Originally from Montreal, Ian Stephens moved to Calgary in 2007, progressively working through the Investment side of the financial industry. With experience in Mutual Funds, Closed End Funds, Hedge Funds and Segregated Funds, Mr. Stephens brings a wealth of knowledge and experience working alongside Advisors through several market cycles.

Believing strongly that human nature will often lead people to emotional financial decisions rather than logical ones; Mr. Stephens has continually strived to put his BA in Psychology (Bishop's University '03) to use when communicating financial concepts and strategies to his audience.

While he enjoys the hustle and bustle of the business world; once the weekend hits, you will often find his fiancée and him on mountain roads exploring the backcountry.

With over 35 years experience in the securities industry Dave brings a wealth of industry and investment knowledge to the team. As Branch Manager Dave is responsible for overseeing the compliance function in the DFSIN offices in Alberta. His decades of experience working with financial advisors is a proven asset when applying compliance solutions that respect the client as well as their advisor.

In his business development role Dave is responsible for acquiring talent to grow the DFSIN Alberta offices. Starting in 1979 Dave has witnessed first hand the evolution of the investment industry giving him a unique perspective on how we got here and where we are going. He believes the mass affluent segment of the Canadian investor is the natural market for DFSIN Advisors.
